Q: When did you first meet and how?

A: My fiancé Raquel and I first met at karaoke night at a local bar in 2015. I won her over with a pretty spot-on Taylor Swift cover ;)

Q: What about it made you choose this ring design to be the one?

A: I really wanted a unique ring that had a vintage style, but with a modern twist. I loved the milgrain detail and I wanted a little peek-a-boo diamond to really set it off.

Q: What were the days leading up to the proposal like? 

A: So I actually proposed to her first! We were on vacation in Puerto Rico, swimming in gorgeous clear water and eating some amazing local cuisine. I had been holding off for months and I thought our trip was the perfect timing. I had made arrangements with a local photographer to secretly capture the moment while we were on the beach at sunset. I was so nervous that I held the ring box upside down! Thankfully, she said yes anyway :)

After she received my ring, Raquel proposed to me on Thanksgiving. We had just moved into a new apartment, and we had spent the whole day with family, so we were enjoying some quality quiet time with our dogs and relaxing with a couple glasses of wine. I didn’t have a clue what she was doing when she sneakily pulled out the ring we made along with a beautiful hand written letter. It was intimate and very “us,” so it was super special.

Q: How did you first hear about us? How was your overall experience with Fire & Brilliance?

A: Since she had her ring already and she had no idea I was going to propose, we got to find and customize my ring together.

We found Fire & Brilliance while searching for diamond alternatives online. I specifically wanted a Charles & Colvard Forever One Moissanite and saw that F&B was an authorized retailer.

Our ring buying experience was so seamless! From searching the different styles from F&B, I had a really good idea of the design and details I wanted, and Rachel brought it to life perfectly. The finished product is everything I could have imagined and more!
