Critics' Choice Awards: Best Dressed

After tuning into the latest Critics’ Choice Awards of 2016, we wanted to give you the rundown of our top five favorite red carpet looks and why they just work. Let us know if this is something you would like to see more of in the near future! Cheers.

Here we have English Actress Kate Beckinsale in a stunning Monique Lhullier (Photo Courtesy of AP). The English actress was undoubtedly dressed to impress for the evening with this flattering silhouette, almost reminiscent of 1920s fashion (think The Great Gatsby). Smartly paired with matching drop earrings and clutch, the high-neck gown draws most of our attention to its fine details in embroidery. The silver lining certainly can’t be missed in this look! The intricate interlacing of lines is smartly placed to emphasize form to flatter with flair. As fashion often refers to history for inspiration, our infatuation for high necklines hitting the market recently can be thanks to the 70s. It’s no wonder; shoulders are some of the best features on the human body, why not show just a little more of it?

Kirsten Dunst wows us in this Chanel Couture dress (Photo Courtesy of Getty Images)! The silver-beaded, 3-tier beauty was paired with Roger Vivier satin pumps and Fred Leighton jewelry. If this is how ruffles are making a comeback in 2016, we want in! Everything just works for us with this dress: the cut offs, the differences of texture, the layering, the silhouette. It is perfection and nobody could have worn it better. And you know we are all over that glitz and glam. She really won us over, and not only that, but Dunst also took home title of Best Actress for her TV role on Fargo that evening. Bravo!

Krysten Ritter is our superhero (Getty). Donning a maroon masterpiece from Zuhair Murad Couture, Ritter made a strong impression on us when she paired the gown with a gold Jimmy Choo clutch and H. Stern earrings. The Jessica Jones actress rocked the dark plum hue and that low-cut, squared off neckline is really very becoming on her. Starting from the cinched waistline meant to compliment Ritter’s form, we can see embellished beadwork of colors that really sing to us as jewelry designers gathering and then dispersing with distance. We would have even suggested a bolder lip color with that radiant an ensemble, phew!

We stopped in our tracks when we saw Liv Tyler in this number (Getty). Although of minimal style, this Cushnie et Ochs gown is anything but basic. In hand, she holds Jimmy Choo and on feet, Nicholas Kirkwood. These golden accents add even more elegance to this beautifully dark and sleek silhouette. Cinched perfectly at the waist to accentuate the new curves of mommy Tyler, draped over shoulder creating a suggested caped look, and finished off with a high slit, this dress has us going nowhere. The actress opened up to several sources, calling her third pregnancy “amazing!” And really, it shows!

Last but definitely not least, we have Actress/Comedian Leslie Mann in this fun, lighthearted Monique Lhullier (Getty). However, you won’t find anybody laughing here. She is a showstopper here for sure with her flawless pairing of Christian Louboutin shoes, Amanda Pearl clutch, and Biorgioni jewelry. From top to bottom, this form-fitting dress was most likely always meant to be worn by Mann. The tulle skirt gathered at the waist has a worked in ombré, or gradient tonal effect that surely just speaks for itself. Those shoes, though, tie in the look so well for us with its particular T-strap styling. Awesome!
