And the Award Goes to...

January is a month to celebrate many a thing. It’s the start of a new year, a perfectly opportune moment in time to look through the window of life with a fresh pair of eyes. And how better than to tune into some of the biggest award shows in America to commemorate the achievements of others, that is, before we go and chase after our own?

Airing live from the Los Angeles Microsoft Theater, the People’s Choice Awards will be broadcasting tonight on the CBS Network at 9PM ET/PT and you don’t want to miss it! Hosted by Angel from Hell Emmy-winning Jane Lynch, the annual awards show is best known to recognize the best of pop culture’s entertainment worlds in film, television, and music by vote of the general public. Because the casting of nominees and winners is ultimately fan-based, anyone with access to a working computer can participate every year! For a full list of 2016’s nominees and stars to make appearances, go here.

On the following Sunday of January 10th, you can catch the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards on NBC at 8PM ET/5PM PT. The pre-show is an hour before the main telecast in case you wanted to join in on critiquing celebrity style and jewelry trends on the red carpet! The Hollywood Foreign Press Association presents the American accolade every year to honor excellence in film and television (domestic and foreign). Ricky Gervais of UK’s The Office returns to the stage for the fourth time to host and this time, according to his interview with Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen Show, he won’t be holding back! Exactly a week after that, the 21st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards will air on networks A&E/Lifetime/LMN at 8PM ET/5PM PT, a live feed of stars on the red carpet an hour prior. Bestowed annually by the Broadcast Film Critics Association to recognize only the finest in cinematic achievement, the ceremony will be hosted by Silicon Valley’s T.J. Miller. Promos are already out! The show will be broadcast straight from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. We hope you’re as excited as we are! Star Wars: The Force Awakens has recently been added to the list of nominees and just in time, too! For more information on this year’s nominees and leads, check here.

Lastly in our lineup, at the end of the month we have the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. Known as one of Hollywood’s major awards events since 1995, the SAG awards are presented by the Screen Actors Guild to pay regard to performances in film and primetime television that they deem fit for the title of utmost quality. The event will be showing January 30th on networks TBS/TNT at 8PM ET/5PM PT. With Matt McGorry of How to Get Away with Murder as social host, viewers can connect on a more personal level with the show through his live tweeting.  The SAG awards show is known for going host-less, smartly sparing its audience of possible awkward jokes that can be made regretfully by a stage host and allowing the show to thrive as is. Here is the list of nominees!
