Michael & Allison

Q: When did you first meet and how?

A: Michael and I first met when we were in our late-teens. We worked together at a grocery store; I worked in the floral department and he would constantly come over and ask me to teach him how to make flower arrangements. We would spend a lot of time together at work and eventually carried our friendship outside of work. After years of being friends, he finally ‘made a move!’ A few more years later, we are happily engaged!

Q: What about the design made you choose this ring to be the one?

A: I had been looking at engagement rings long before we got engaged. I knew exactly what I wanted, and I was sure to always show him ;) I found Fire & Brilliance when I was researching about Moissanite and completely fell in love with the company’s work! I wanted a ring that was timeless but special. I absolutely loved all the rings I saw with diamond prongs and knew that was the special twist I wanted.

After showing Michael time and time again, he obviously got the hint! He had my ring custom made to fit every detail I wanted! He also added his own touches. He liked six-pronged claw prongs, which is something I was hesitant about. But the more I saw, the more I loved it. He had them make my ring with six claw prongs and I now think it is the most beautiful way to hold a stone. It is perfect in every way and I am completely obsessed with it. Not an hour goes by where I’m not memorized by its beauty.

Q: In each your own words, can you describe what the days leading up to the proposal were like? Can you tell us about the proposal? (Feel free to be as detailed as possible!)

A: The days leading up to the proposal involved planning our annual Big Bear vacation. We go to Big Bear every winter in hopes of spending some time in the snow. This year, we didn’t make it up until spring, but we somehow lucked out and got some snow the first day there! We spent our first day relaxing by the fireplace and enjoying the snowfall. The next morning, after the fresh snow, we went on a hike in the mountains. We hiked quite a bit, and eventually stumbled upon a fallen down tree.

Michael suggested carving our names into the tree, which I happily agreed to. Shortly after, he changed his mind and told me he was going to carve something that I couldn’t see. I turned around and spent my time making a snowman and listening to him complain about how hard it is to carve letters into a tree. When he was done, he covered my eyes and walked me over. When he uncovered my eyes, I saw “Will you marry me?” carved into the tree. I turned around and he was down on one knee. I didn’t even give him enough time to verbally ask me to marry him before I said yes. It was perfect. We spent the day celebrating in town and receiving free drinks from everyone we told!

Q: How was your overall experience with Fire & Brilliance?

A:
Our experience was perfect. The ring design was amazing and so was their customer service. They always replied to our emails quickly. Their shipping was very quick and discrete. They packaged the ring inside of a large box to disguise its value, and also required a signature upon delivery (to ensure your ring isn’t just sitting outside for anyone to take!). I will definitely be getting my wedding band through Fire & Brilliance as well!

Q: Lastly, we wanted to ask something of each our clients to be featured a question that is unique to their story.

What is your favorite quirk about each other?

A: I love everything about Michael. He has so many little quirks that drive me crazy but make my heart melt at the same time. From his forgetfulness to his cuddliness, I adore everything about him! He is my best friend and I love spending every moment with him.
