Addy & Bryan

Q: When did you first meet and how?

A: We met by mutual friends on campus back in Fall 2014. I was studying pretty aggressively for a major upcoming test and he walked into the room with a mutual friend to talk to my study buddy. I was so annoyed with everyone in the room that day because all I wanted to do was study! The first time we actually talked was a month or so later. He apparently kept asking the mutual friend about me (he thought I was cute, even though I was a wreck from all the stress).

Q: What about the design made you choose this ring to be the one?

A: I am very detail oriented, which is why the band has milgrain and scrolls. I have always like the radiant cut, so I knew that would be my major stone. He pretty much took alllllll the photos of the rings I like and spent days designing the most perfect ring! I absolutely love it!!!

Q: In each your own words, can you describe what the days leading up to the proposal were like? Can you tell us about the proposal?

A: We have discussed marriage and the future many times before he proposed so it wasn’t something super shocking, however, I did not know when he planned to propose. We have been doing long distance since July of last year due to our jobs. It has been pretty hard on both of us. So, we decided for Christmas, since it was the first time we could spend more than just a weekend together, to go visit both of our families. After visiting my family we flew out to Colorado to visit his in the Colorado Rockies. One morning after it had snowed we decided to go snow-shoeing around the same lake where we had our first date three years prior. We have been around this lake many times before, hiking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter, so this didn’t seem out of the ordinary. His brother and his fiancé joined us on the adventure (unbeknownst to me, to take photos with their higher powered camera). We made it half way around the lake, where there is a log bridge that goes over a river below. The snow on top is very deceiving because it makes the log bridge seem wider than it really is, so we were walking slow to make sure we wouldn’t fall into the river. We walked halfway across when Bryan told me to stop, I turned around and he went down on one knee and proposed! It was a very magical moment, with all the snow and at a very meaningful location.

Q: How was your overall experience with Fire & Brilliance? How did you first hear about us?

A: I know Bryan went back and forth with F&B designing the perfect ring. I had many ideas and never found a ring that had everything I wanted. He sent in photos and asked for certain modifications multiple times. When F&B sent the computer design he knew the ring was going to be exactly what I wanted. I know the quick responses and very informational replies was something he really appreciated as well as the quick turnover. He first heard about F&B from his brother, who also proposed with a ring F&B designed!

Q: Lastly, we wanted to ask something of each our clients to be featured a question that is unique to their story.

Where do you each like to go to find some rest and relaxation?

A: If we are feeling a little more adventurous and go to places we haven’t been, I know we would like to see what Cabo San Lucas, Mexico has to offer. However, our happy place will always be right around where we got engaged in the Colorado Rockies.
