Q: When did you first meet and how?

A: Jennifer - We first met in the Navy as we were both stationed at an Aviation command in Jacksonville, Fl. I remember when I first actually met him like it was yesterday. My job was to greet the new Sailors at the command and well, when I first saw him, I immediately thought that he was handsome of course, but I also felt awkward because I just shook his hand. After a couple days had gone by, my friend actually knew him from a prior command and had introduced us to one another. Ever since then and a couple of dates later... he locked me in as his now fiancé. 

Q: What about the design made you choose this ring to be the one?

A: Elijah - I chose this design for her because it was simplistic, yet elegant. I knew she loved the whole vintage design look and so when I saw this ring...I knew it was the one. Now, I had never heard of Moissanite before, but this ring was just too beautiful to pass up. Plus, it was unique because it was a gray moissanite! She loved it!

Q: In each your own words, can you describe what the days leading up to the proposal were like? Can you tell us about the proposal? (Feel free to be as detailed as possible!)

A: Elijah - The couple of days leading up to the proposal...I was feeling so nervous, yet excited. I knew she was the one and plus long before even buying the engagement ring, we had talked about marriage and our life together would look like. I knew she was the one for me and knowing that helped put my nervous heart at ease leading to the proposal. I knew I wanted the proposal to be sweet and intimate. So, I decided to take her on a hike to watch the sunset with our puppy. At the end of the hike, there was this pier and we stood at the edge just watching the sun go down.

I then looked at her and realized that this was it...this was the perfect moment. So, I turn her to face me and as she looked confused I said to her, "Jennifer...you know we have been through a lot and we still managed to stay together and love each other unconditionally right?" She nodded yes. "You know I love you more than you'll ever know right?" She said, "Yes??" and so then I got down on one knee and I asked her to marry me by telling her that I don't want to go another day without knowing that you want to grow old with me and laugh at all the good times we have together. "I love you, Jennifer,...so will you be my wife, sugar plum??" and she said ,"Yes!!!" It started to pour shortly thereafter and we ran to the car. Haha!

Q: How was your overall experience with Fire & Brilliance? How did you first hear about us?

A: My overall experience with Fire & Brilliance had never been easier! The website was easy to follow and led me to a perfect match for her. Although, the sizing was a little off, I contacted them through via email to get a resize down on the ring and they were pretty thorough with great feedback. We now both love Fire & Brilliance not only for this amazing and gorgeous ring, but for making our proposal one to remember! I actually didn't hear anything about Fire & Brilliance until I saw your website after scrolling through Google and looking at other websites to find the perfect ring--that is how I ended up on your website. I was hooked!

Q: Lastly, we wanted to ask something of each our clients (for yourself or for both of you to answer) to be featured a question that is unique to their story.

If you could describe your partner as an animal of the wild, what would he/she be and why?

A: Elijah - I would describe my sugar plum as a honey badger because she has been through a lot of stuff and yet, she is still taking on the lions and the snakes. She is a tough little fighter and I love her for it!

Jennifer - I would describe him as a rhino because not only is he gracefully strong, but he is my rock and protector. Plus, the rhino is his favorite animal of all time! :)
